Does it ring any bells? And thank you for mentioning that lane between Mun Tin and Suet San where they had several stalls at night and the pak koh soi, hoong tau sar and nyonya cakes were very good. I brought up this lane a couple of times at this board but no one (except you) seems to remember it. After cinema shows at the Cathay or Lido, I would sit at the lane to have pak koh soi or hoong tau sar and I used to see many ladies (dressed in their finest) eating there too. I agree with you I am indeed lucky to be able to visit Ipoh often. Even though I now live in Penang and Penang food is legendary, Ipoh has many dishes which are not available in the Pearl of the Orient. Best wishes, kayes.
