I think you'll get a beautiful view of sunrise at the viewing point due north of the NSE before the tunnel. As for sunset, probably there's a spot along the Gopeng/Ipoh old trunk road near the Petronas station and the factories. Sometimes when I'm driving back from Gopeng esp. after the rain, the view is real nice. You can see the sun's rays between the clouds (very inspirational). A gift from the Almighty I would say.
