I don't think so Kayes, but you can pay your bills here. This TM building is used by the maintenance guys. However, if I'm around this area, I would go to the shop next to the TM building for some good old Dim Sum.

Hi Joe,

Isn't the shop famous for their Tai Pow? Do you remember the name of the shop?

Hi ACS77, The name of the shop is Soon Fatt and is famous for their Tai Pow and other old style dim sum. Their Voo Kok is quite good too. I also find their Sang Meen quite nice to go with dim sum.

hi Joe, I did think of stopping by at Soon Fatt for a Tai Pow but it was closed. I suppose it is closed on Mondays. Anyway, that morning I already had a very good wan tan mee and coffee at a coffeeshop in Ipoh Garden recommended by you some time ago. I like coffeeshops that open early in the morning. This one in Ipoh Garden (near Woolley) was already busy when I walked in at 7.15 am.

Kayes and Joe. at the end of the block of shops to the left of TM is a stall in the corner coffee shop that sells delicious 'tarn tart' and 'kai soh' [custard tarts and meat pies Chinese style] Best to go early as they sell literally like hot cakes!

Hi blue grass,
That's Ipoh's best 'tarn tart' and 'kai soh' and my family had been regular customers since we were very young. Whenever we have visitors from out of town, we always 'bungkus' these pastries by the dozens for them to take home. During one of my trips to Ipoh, I was there at around 11:00 a.m. and everything was sold out. You are right, these goodies are up for grabs as soon as it is fresh out of the oven.

Hi Kayes, I too like to have early breakfast as the day starts early for me so for us, 'the early bird catches the worm or noodles'. The coffeeshop you went to starts early so its good for early risers.
Ken, and Blue grass, we definitely have the same taste for good food. I too love the 'kai soh' and 'tarn tart' besides the voo kok. Slurp!!!
