Kayes, (1)Do you have old photos of: (a)Jalan Padang in Greentown where the old Sturrock Club used to be? (b)the old Sturrock Club? (2)What is currently standing on the old Jalan Padang or the Sturrock Club?

hello Chen, thank you for responding to my call for posts Smile I am not sure whether the Sturrock Club is still there. Joe (Retired Falcon) might be able to help. I remember him mentioning the club in another post. I will check my photo archives soon.

The land in which the Sturrock Club once stood now stands part of the Ipoh City Hall. I was told that Sturrock Club moved to Ipoh Garden somewhere near Wooleys. There used to be some tennis courts and a football field in front of Sturrock Club and surrounded by govt. quaters. There was also a tiny roundabout beside the club.

You are right Joe. Sturrock Club is now found upstairs of a shop opposite Wooleys. I saw the sign above the door, while walking on the five-foot way to Wooleys.

Thanks to kayes, Retired Falcon (Joe) and blue grass for the updates. I believe all my three questions have been answered.
Let me see if I got this right:
(a) Presumably the field, surrounded by the old Jalan Padang, is part of the current Ipoh City Hall.
(b) The old Sturrock Club still exists - in the upstairs of a shop opposite Wooleys (the food court in Ipoh Garden).

I have some very good friends who lived in the wooden government quarters along Jalan Padang that ran around the padang itself.

Green Town today is largely beyond recognition !
