Found an old pic of me taken near the YMCA in Coronation Park as it was then known. Can't remember the exact year pic was taken but I think it was when I was in Sixth Form in ACS Ipoh.

Wah orange! What you wrote will make Tom Cruise jealous and I hate to make him angry! If I remember right, I was wearing an Arrow shirt and a Tissot wristwatch which was a birthday present from my mother. Can't remember which tailor made my pants but surely it was not one trained in Savile Row. The shoes were Barretts because my father always bought that brand for me. Haircut was by the Malay barber in Jubilee Park Smile

And oh ...... Sunglasses were Rodenstock, a used pair given to me by one of my uncles in Kuala Kangsar.

Kayes, you make Lau Dak Wa angry too - more so during the 80's. Smile

I now remember why my pic was taken at that particular spot near the YMCA. It was to illustrate where a couple in a beige Volkswagen Beetle would be parked every weekday (never weekends) from 6.30 pm to about 10 pm. That loving couple kept their schedule very well and they were never late coming in .... almost on the dot at 6.30 pm. With powerful binoculars and depending on how those plants were blowing in the wind, it was possible to make out what was going on in the car. Some more adventurous residents of the Y simply did some commando crawling to within smelling distance of the car to have a front seat look Smile Those were the good old days at the Coronation Park!

Kayes,
In those days, Coronation (DR) Park, Perak Stadium Parking Lot and Polo Ground were some of the popular spots for making out. I remember being in the parking lot when along came some FRU guys flashing their torchlights at us. It was quite unnerving at first but after realizing that the windows and windscreens were fogged up because of condensation from all the heavy breathing, we let it slide and continue to do our own thing. Voyeurism does feed us with some cheap thrills and even law enforcement personnel do it.

from 6.30 pm to about 10 pm. ..... It seems like "curfew" for kids as they had to be back by certain time. Either they were students or they had to be back to monitor their own children. Haha! Weekends are always family days no matter how or what!! Kakaka

If only there were tinted car windows or MPV (moving round and round without any destination) Smile like the present time, there wouldn't be any "live telecast" or "live performances" for those excited and fun-seeking spectators or audiences in Dr. Park. Hehehe

By doing the same thing at the same time or taking the same route everyday is sure way to invite crimes or making it easy for stalkers. No?? Smile

This is how the Y looked in early November 2015. Brings back loads of memories.
