Hi Kayes
I'm sure many of you would have seen adverts of this development which is after Tambun town, Giant and Banjaran. The location of this luxury condo is superb, right next to the hills and although I like the place I can only think of it as a lovely vacation home - just the place to get away from the maddening crowd! The monolith sitting beside the lake is most impressive and can be seen from the units facing the lake which is fed by a stream and so the water is not stagnant. Although it is not evident from my pic, the water is quite clear and I saw fish swimming near the edge. I'm sure it wasn't my imagination but it did feel a little cooler at The Haven!

A business without a sign is a sign of no business .....

Blue Grass is right about those ads for this development. Huge billboards are being erected alongside North South Highway. Fantastic catchy tagline: "Pride of Ipoh. Envy of the Nation." and "Who Needs a Vacation when The Haven is your address?" catch one's attention and create memorable impact.

We no longer feel offended when Ipoh is referred as "Retiree Town". After all, who doesn't want to retire at The Haven?! Plus point for this development is it is just a short drive from the city centre unlike other major cities in the country. It takes forever to reach one point from another within the same city. Excellent choice for retiree; semi-retiree; weekend home or those whose offices are in KL but prefer to stay in Ipoh. KL is less than 2hrs (it takes longer time to reach Kepong from Klang) drive away and going to office for these lucky people is just to attend meetings or to sign important documents. They need not be in office everyday ..... DON'T get jealous and I know I CAN'T afford to get jealous!! Smile

Hi Orange
I wonder if the developers have sold a large percentage of the units in The Haven. When I first inquired about the prices of units, I thought the price per sq foot reasonable, although I can't remember the actual figure now. Most of the choice units facing the lake had been taken but the other views of the hills were still interesting.
As you said, this development is near enough to KL and it would be a good weekend home for stressed out city folks. Don't I know that it takes longer to drive across KL city than to drive from here to KL!! I once drove to KL for a dinner and upon entering the city encountered a massive traffic jam. It took me another two hours to reach my destination.

Thanks again Blue Grass for those beautiful pics and as usual, keep us informed about the latest happening in our hometown. Nowadays, even Kwai Loh believe in Feng Shui. It is believed that front of the unit must face water and hills should be at the back. Water is 'Shui' and 'Shui' is Choy (money). So you see Shui (Choy) everyday. Hill is 'San' and hills at the back means you have 'Khaw San' (backing or support esp. financial support). It is good that the water here is not stagnant. Water at the back of unit is not favourable as all the wealth collected will be drained away eventually. Come to think of it, units facing those lush green hills should be popular as you get beautiful view and fresh air - if Feng Shui is not your cup of tea. We must also take into consideration that water can get stagnant at one time or other.

I can see from the net that many apartment units are being let out as "holiday homes". This cannot be a good sign because "holiday makers" are often a nuisance to those residing there on a long term basis. Anyone used the holiday homes before?
