The first pic. looks like it's taken from one of the colouring pages for kid - the choice of colours and the simple design of house for easy colouring. Smile

I have seen the horizontal wooden rod grill door (1st. pic.) from many old Chinese movies but not a real one. Didn't know we actually have it right in our own old town. Always curious how does the wooden grill door work? Are all the horizontal wooden rods fixed to the frame or each piece of wooden horizontal rod can be removed individually - meaning we just remove few horizontal wooden rods whenever we want to get in or out of the house. We usually see this type of door from village farm house in old China. With the simple house design and this horizontal wooden bar door frame, this place brings us back to ancient time in China. Uniquely, we have this village farm house lookalike right in our town - Ipoh Old Town!

It looks like the solid looking wooden main door on the 4th pic. from bottom can last another 100 years! Smile Thanks Kayes for sharing these pics.
