For the past few months I had been bothered by a wayward nerve in my left eye which caused me some discomfort and also affected my vision. I do quite a bit of photography and also look at the computer screen a lot and as such, clear vision is important to me. I have a good friend in Hong Kong who is an eye surgeon and I decided to get his help. For the past 5 months I have been in and out of Hong Kong a few times and had three eye surgeries done. It is a long story but I am now glad to say my vision is restored and I can get back to photography again and also look at the screen of my Mac without suffering from severe eye strain. The human eye is actually quite a hardy piece of equipment considering the fact that most high end digital cameras have a "life span" of only about 120,000 shutter actuations (shutter clicks) and in my case, a dslr lasts me about 3 years before the shutter has to be replaced. Imagine your eye lasts you only 120,000 blinks Smile

Kayes, sorry to hear about the nerve problem in your left eye and happy to know that your vision is fully restored now. Didn't know you had three eye surgeries in Hong Kong. Take care and wish you all the best!

One of our relatives had sinus problem and she went for a surgery. After the surgery, one of her eyes sees double vision as some of the nerves to her right eye were damaged during that nose surgery. Legal action was taken and it took more than 5 years to get the compensation. One third of it went to legal fees. Even with the compensation, she could not gain back the vision of her right eye, According to her doctor, our muscles loosen as we age (she is 70 plus). So no matter how, no surgery could guarantee that the muscles won't touch the nerves again.

It has been a few months since I last drove outstation due to my eye problems and subsequent surgeries but yesterday I drove to Taiping and everything went well. Stayed overnight there and last night after dinner we went to Starbucks at Taiping Sentral. Pic shows Ethan at Starbucks wearing my shades.

Of course no trip to Taiping is complete without a visit to the zoo. Ethan made a new friend and wishes his friend could come out to play.

Ethan in Starbucks: Looking extremely "yau ying" with his grandpa's sunglasses and his Nike ..... following his grandpa's footsteps. Congrats! "Just Do It!" - fantastic slogan for Nike!
