In this pic you can see the Convent School on the left and the beginning of Tanah Rata town high street on the right. The higher block housed the Federal Hotel (now called the Planters Hotel) and the post office is between the higher block and the lower shophouses towards the right. Pic courtesy Neil Morton.

those were the days, Kayes. So pristine a hill station then.
my pastor who went to Cameron in the 50s, told us that he need to wear long johns at night then
