Hi Kayes, "Raindrops keep falling on my head" as the song goes. I just came back from a day trip to Camerons and it was raining since lunchtime. I was at the Brincang marketplace too and business there was very slow which was good for us as Liz bought lots of strawberries very cheaply as they wanted to close for the day. Liz is cooking strawberry jam now. Yummy!

hi Joe, Camerons can be pretty miserable when it rains and it rains often there! A couple of years back, I stayed at Cluny Lodge for two nights and during the ENTIRE stay, it rained. And when the new road was not opened yet, landslides were frequent along the old road. But I still love Camerons Smile

Kayes, how does one book the Cluny Lodge and how much does it cost? It sure looks like a very nice place with a good view. I just love the highlands.

Joe, Cluny Lodge is owned by a Singapore company called Aloha Resorts which is indirectly linked to the Singapore Government. Booking is done strictly through their website. A Google search on "Cluny Lodge Camerons" will get you there. And payment is only by credit card. Depending on whether or not it is peak season, room rates are from S$60 to S$75. I remember there are a total of 8 rooms. Rooms 1, 2 or 3 on the 2nd floor are best. The caretaker there will prepare your meals if you wish .... can't remember price.

Thanks Kayes, its a real beautiful place and I'm keen on going there. Just look at the greenery in the pic. Nothing like taking a strool there.

Cluny Lodge is in a nice neighbourhood too. Right next door is the Sultan of Pahang's house and after that, a bungalow belonging to a Christian Mission. Walk further up and you get to Wayfoong & Menanti, the beautiful bungalows owned by the HSBC Bank. And if you take a diversion just before climbing up to Wayfoong, you will see the famous Moonlight Bungalow (where Jim Thompson disappeared) and the Sunlight Bungalow is just before Moonlight. Also within walkable distance is Chefoo, now the retreat of the Methodist Church. Walk a bit more and you are at Brinchang town Smile

I have forgotten to include Strawberry Park Resort which is also in this neighbourhood. From Cluny Lodge there is a very steep path that will take you down to Tanah Rata town. I wanted to try going down but changed my mind as it was a wet day. Minutes later I saw a young lady walking up with one hand carrying an umbrella and the other some shopping.

I think if we were to climb that steep path, we'll be panting for breath. Wow! Cluny Lodge sounds like the perfect place for a getaway. Thanks for all the info Kayes.

Hi Liz, I am looking for a good and tested pineapple jam recipe. Do you have one, please! Smile
