Well at the school hall is still the same.

I think the tennis court use to be where the basketball court at the back of the picture. I had my fair share of arranging bicycles in the mornings as a prefect or have to move bicycles of late leavers if we want to play tennis!

Sorry, Michael lim is many years my senior.
Just wondering though, what happened to the chapel on the top floor?
Everyone I meet gives me different answers like; it got burnt down, its been closed down, its haunted, etc. It is such a beautiful chapel. I was really proud of being a part of it.
All catholics would attend the mass there on certain days or special occasions.
The brothers quarters used to be next to it.

I don't think the chapel is there now. Like the chapel in the Convent it must have been dismantled. I'll find out for sure and let you know. The brothers no longer occupy the top floor beside the chapel. They have moved to a building at the back of the school.

Blue Grass, is Dato' Brother Vincent still working or has he retired? Very sad to know that Brother Cassian Pappu has passed away end of last year.

Saw a signboard at one of the road junctions in Ipoh recently advertising the opening of a spice garden. Does anyone know where it is and how to reach the place. As I intend to start a small spice garden in my home soon, please advise whether it is possible to purchase any seedlings there?

After Brother Casimir passed away, Brother Vincent was the relieved Principal for Stella Maris for few months before Brother Cassian Pappu took over. Many students were saying Brother Vincent loves Ipoh more!

Bro Vincent retired years ago Orange. He is also getting on in years and we all sighed with relief when he gave up cycling to church. Bro Vincent, all dressed up, braces and all, cycling happily along the road was quite a sight!

Bro Vincent's heart is in the right place, Ipoh!

Hi chin
I heard that a spice garden was in the works but I have not had news of it since then. I'll ask around and if I get any info, will let you know.
What sort of herbs are you planning to grow? Do you know that you can actually buy many herbs from the supermarket like Jusco and Tesco? They are sold in small bunches meant for cooking but stick them in pots and they soon grow. My tarragon, basil and mint are doing well.

In fact, Brother Pappu was the first Principal before Brother Casimir but due to ill health, Brother Pappu resigned and Brother Casimir took over. When Brother Vincent went back to Ipoh, Brother Pappu came back to resume the post.

Latest news! Renovations are being done to the chapel as of Jan 2011. They are seeking former Michaelians and supporters who can help in any way. Brother Vincent and Brother Matthew are spearheading the project.

Dear Kayes, Am I allowed to give contact details? Maybe names of people or the website?
