I took this pic in one of the side lanes when having lunch at a restaurant in Jalan Alor. I chuckle every time I think of the enterprising gall of the guy who's so boldly spruiking for business. Ah, only in Malaysia ... Smile

This one was taken along Jalan Masjid India. These "medicine men" have been promoting viagra long before Pfizer claimed to have invented it Smile

Thanks for posting the pics, Kayes. Smile

Pics were taken at Kampung Ikan Emas (Cheras). I do not know the name of the restaurant but apparently, everyone calls it "Jiew Lai Yue Tow Fun" (Cheras Fish Head noodles). I think there is a branch in Old Klang Road going by the name of "Jiew Lai Sei Lau" (referring to 'Cheras 4-storey flats').

The friends who took me there are regulars as you can see one of them helping herself by pouring a generous measure of rice wine into her bowl of noodles. Every second Thursday, instead of fish head noodles, the restaurant serves their famous Steamed Fish Head that you have with rice and other yummy dishes. And yes, we had to queue for our tables on two different occasions.

This restaurant is along a block of shops, some of which look as if time had stood still for them. Check out the Chinese grocery shops!

This block of shops is opposite a longhouse which is peculiarly interesting in that it's occupied by Chinese residents (you can see Chinese religious stickers on the front of some units). The end of this longhouse is sitting right next to the highway. Talk about glaring clashes of culture.

Whilst we were stuffing our faces, a very colourful procession of Indian ladies started to parade past our table so I grabbed a few shots. Smile

The famous Steamed Fish Head dish was nicely polished off by my two brothers. I'm a complete klutz when it comes to eating fish body parts. Smile
