Kayes, that shop Chai Seng has a wide choice of liquor. I managed to get imported German beer from one of these two shops. Just behind this row of shops is my nephew's cafe, Denis Jazz Bistro, where you can have coffee and wifi.

Joe, I had dinner at Denis the other day. Great food and great service. I had the best table in the house too Smile

Kayes, that was the night I was having a gig at the Mason Lodge in Tiger Lane. Cool! glad you liked the place. Its just like Cheers - where everyone knows your name. I normally hang out there when I'm in Ipoh.

Heading back to Ipoh for a couple of days. Looks like I'll be in this vicinity and at Denis. Maybe meet up with a few friends and enjoy a few mugs of Tiger.

Hi Joe,
Long ago, there was a grocery shop along this row of shop houses that stays open late into the night. In those days, I use to drive by this road on my way home and apart from the pubs and restaurants, this was the only shop that was still open for business.

Hi Ken, sadly that grocery shop is no more in existence. It was run by an old couple and stayed open till late at night. Their shop has been bought over by Sports Toto. I was very sad to see the old couple having to put a table along the verandah and sell off whatever they had in their shop. Lately, they are not around and I'm wondering what became of them.
